“Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality.” – Dalai Lama

I am very happy to announce that I have been invited to be a contributing blogger for A Journey Through Thick N Thin. A blog started by my sister and her childhood best friend Beth. They opened a fitness studio geared towards people of every level of fitness where they could all come together and support one another no mater what their size or ability (read more about their journey here).

I will sometimes be writing fresh content specifically for their blog and other times I will be re-blogging posts from here. Be sure to follow them as well so you don’t miss out on any of the inspirational action.

They were recently contacted by the Today show to be used as a mold for a plus size manikin that will be displayed in time square. I am personally very excited for this story and can’t wait for it to air in April. They will be sure to blog about the whole thing as it goes along so if you would like to follow the story be sure to follow their blog.

Their passion to help others was part of what inspired me to start my blog. So many of their customers said they felt so alone in their struggles and I think it’s important to remind people that even though no one else surrounding you might be experiencing the same thing you are not alone. Somewhere out there there’s someone just like you and you can connect and support each other.

Here is a clip of the story they did on 9 News (our local NBC news station) explaining why they wanted to start the studio. Originally it was geared towards plus size people but after talking to many people of average size they found out that the feeling of being judged at the gym wasn’t exclusive to those who were obese so they opened their doors to everyone.

I am super excited to be joining these ladies on this journey.
